Meeting of the Waters: Cooperative Conservation, Recreation & Economic Development in St. Louis

St. Louis Earth Day has joined together with Confluence Greenway, University of Missouri-St. Louis and East-West Gateway Council of Governments to create this symposium.

Join us on May 9, as world-renowned environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. opens the first Meeting of the Waters Symposium with a public lecture and book signing at Alberici Headquarters, one of the world's greenest buildings, at 8800 Page Avenue. Kennedy will speak on "Our Environmental Destiny."

On May 10, the symposium continues at the J.C. Penney Conference Center, University of Missouri-St. Louis, with two plenary sessions and 15 workshops in five educational strands:

* Floods and Floodplains

* Water Quality

* Parks, Trails, and Community Planning

* River Culture

* Models for Learning.

On May 11, choose from the symposium's 16 mobile workshops for firsthand experience of the confluence area, from geocaching and canoeing to history and vistas to master planning and water quality.
