Downtown St. Louis medians come alive each season with colorful flower and decorative landscape displays. These urban landscape enhancements are made possible by generous support from the St. Louis business and philanthropic community and the volunteer efforts of non-profit service organizations forming a downtown landscape enhancement initiative called Urban Roots. The Urban Roots project continues to be a major interest by St. Louis Master Gardeners who assist with the horticultural development and maintenance. Urban Roots is a cooperative effort between St. Louis Master Gardeners, Gateway Greening and Operation Brightside. The group works to plant spectacular horticultural displays along the most visible traffic medians in downtown St. Louis. New are the corporate or individual sponsored planters that will offer another venue to brighten up and soften the downtown streets of St. Louis.
