Culinary Students visit Greenhouse
South Tech High School Culinary Students meet Master Gardeners .......
Our Master Gardener group operates the Greenhouse at South Tech High School in South St Louis County. The operation also includes classes for the schools Culinary students. Today, Master Gardener Karen Koehneman prepared a fun exercise for the class. She had root vegetables displayed along with a sheet listing various vegetables. The students had to match the vegetables with the letters opposite the displayed vegetables. It was a great introduction to the greenhouse:

Turnips, Rutabaga, Celery Root, Horseradish, Parsnip, Fennel, Leek, Shallots, Onion, Radishes, Jicama, Carrots, Peanuts, Garlic, Beets, Potato, Sweet Potato, Yams, Ginger, Kohlrabi and Red Onion.
