Although enveloped in mystery and legend, orchids are not difficult to grow in our homes if we observe a few simple rules of care. They are different; not difficult! This visual program includes the cultural requirements of growing orchids, as well as their structure, growth habits and reproduction. We will explore the great diversity in the Family Orchidaceae.

Carol Gravens is a St. Louis Advanced Level Master Gardener and a Plant Doctor. She retired from a professional career as a microbiologist. Carol gives talks and teaches classes on orchids to various groups in the community and at Missouri Botanical Garden as part of the Master Gardener Speakers' Bureau. She volunteers one day a week in the orchid greenhouses at the Garden and grows orchids in her home in Glendale, Missouri. She loves everything about horticulture and has a passion for orchids. |
