Master Gardener
Van grew up on a farm in Oklahoma where his love for gardening got its start from his father and grandfather.
He has been an adult educator, entrepreneur, and businessman. He has volunteered for the Missouri Botanical Garden since 1998. He became a Master Gardener in 2001. He volunteers at Flora Conservancy of Forest Park, Shriners Hospital for Children as a landscape advisor. He is the past chairman of the Master Gardeners Speakers Bureau. His current topics with the Speakers Bureau are 'Create Winter Interest in Your Garden', 'Landscape Design I and II', and 'Growing Soil for Beautiful Gardens'.
